My parents have been married for 40 years!! Goodness that's a long time!!  I decided to get some shots of them in the yard!!  They look great.  Tony just turned 65 and Gerri is 64.  I hope I look as good!!

1st Entry

I'm starting this blog to share some of my new photography.  Over the last few years, I have grown very passionate about the whole area for creative expression through photography.  I not only want to take great pictures that make the people photographed happy, but I also want to share the happiness with all who view the pictures.

I've been modeling all of my adult life, and have always had interest in art direction.  I often thought that if I were not modeling, I would love to be the art director.  The art director is the one who drives the shoot, and provides the vision that determines the final product.  Through modeling, I learned that it's the whole gang of artists and their collaboration that produce the masterpieces that we see in advertising.  My  entire modeling career has been such a fabulously, wonderful journey for me.

It wasn't until my little Grace was born that I realized that I could be more in love with a human being than words could express!!  A fellow model friend, Shanon Bell, photographed Grace for the first time when she was 2 years old, and I was newly preggers with my Benjamin.  The pictures of Grace were like magic!  She captured Grace's fun, spirited, and outgoing personality.  I could not have been more thrilled with the photographs!

Even though it was wonderful to have modeled for years, it was more fulfilling to see my own children's personalities captured in that way.  I decided that I had to have a camera, and I made the purchase when Benjamin was almost one.  I also enrolled in photography classes, and begin asking the photographers that I work with a ton of questions...and I work with some of the best photographers in the world. 

From the experiences with my children, I began to think about how important photographers are in our lives because they capture moments that are too special to miss.  Through great photographs, we are able to remember and relive experiences.  With my photography, I hope to capture fantastic moments in people's lives.  I want to make people feel the way I felt when I first laid eyes on those first great shots of Grace.
